Electah Chase

Electah is a Traditional Midwife and Herbalist who offers traditional home birth midwifery care. She is currently serving the Kansas City, Missouri, metropolitan area.

Birth work has always been a part of her life since an early age, serving as a birth & postpartum doula, supporting family and friends before even knowing there was such a thing.

It was her own birth experience that ultimately thrust her into maternal health and birth work officially. In March of 2017 she gave birth to her 2nd sonshine. The experience was revolutionary. Although she hired a midwife and planned for this zen homebirth experience in Los Angeles, she ended up delivering in a hospital in Kansas City. The treatment, harassment, attempted silencing, threats and overall experience birthed not just a new Mama & baby but also a midwife!

After spending two months away from home she made it back to LA and was welcomed by the midwives of Kindred Space LA. She made her journey into maternal health official by completing her Doula & Placenta encapsulation training at Kindred Space LA, Midwifery training at Crimson Fig, Herbal apprenticeship at The Laya Center & Midwifery apprenticeship. She additionally went on to start a Doula Training Program due to the lack of Doula presence in hospital births. In addition, Electah created the Mama Is Universal Community, a safe space for Mamas of all walks of life to connect in the likeliness of being and becoming Mamas.
